What is Deep web & Dark web ?

Internet

Basically the whole Internet is divided into 3 major parts mainly:
1. The Surface web
2. The Deep web
3. The Dark web

Starting with the first and foremost the Surface web

  • SURFACE WEB

Surface Web
Nowadays all the services are available online. Suppose if you want to buy any product, you just type the name of the product on your search engine and the search engine gives all the related search results to you according to your requirement.
All this are under Surface web. everything here is legal. if it is not legal your search engines will automatically remove it from the search result. 96% of the whole internet is Dark and Deep web.

  • DEEP WEB

Deep Web
Now comes the Deep web, none of the web-pages in Deep web can be indexed in any secured public search engines, because this web-pages requires the admin panel user id and password to access.suppose you purchased any product from any e-commerce website. so when you try to make a payment from your Credit card or any other payment option , the secure web-page redirects you to the payment gateway where you enter all your credentials.
All this data are highly secured and stored in Deep web and cannot be easily accessible by normal users. All the back end data of a website the admin logins and all the access controls are hidden somewhere in Deep web. Only 4% of the total internet is accessible by normal search engines

  • DARK WEB

Dark Web

Before I explain you about Dark web, let me tell you the similarity between Deep web and Dark web.The similarity is that none of the normal search engines like google , bing etc will never index Deep or Dark web-pages but the difference is Deep web does legal work whereas Dark web doesn't.
Deep web can be backtrack and find the required details of a user , whereas backtracking a Dark web-page is not that easy.
Here everything is illegal like selling Drugs, purchasing Arms and Ammunition, hiring a Hit-man, hiring a Black hat hacker, disturbing videos of humans, child pornography and much more.As everything is illegal here the users want to be anonymous on the Dark web hence they use cryptocurrency for transaction purpose which cannot be traced.
The specialty of the Dark web-pages is that they cannot be accessed by normal browsers like google,Mozilla firefox, opera. Special browsers like TOR is required for accessing these websites. Tor browsers has a special feature called onion routing, which means your IP address will change regularly with certain interval of time. The Dark web-pages domain are not simple domain as others, they are little jumbled named domains with extensions .onion .
Hosting a Dark web-page can be easily done by a simple PC or laptop. The host of Dark web-pages mostly use Virtual computer in which they make sure they use more than one Vpn and the anonymous routing of TOR is also used for complete anonymity. Which makes it tough to back track these websites. As the website is hosted by a PC , the website will be shut if the user shut downs their PC. So these websites are open for particular period of time so that you can do your transaction and other works. Dark web is full of scammers and rippers.
Some reputed web pages are genuine while most of them are scammers. These scammers cannot be traced due to complete anonymity in Dark web. There are several forums on Dark web where people give their point of view about the society and other regional issues which cannot be done publicly. There are many games here for the visitors like Chess clubs , Dark web even has a social platform called as "Black Book". Here privacy is the main priority.
There are even search engines on Dark web called as "Grams". It also has a dedicated Wikipedia which has information about all those things which are not available on the Surface web Wikipedia.

  • Dark web can be used for information collection and many other useful stuff.
  • Accessing Dark web is not a crime until and unless you commit a crime out there.
